Overview

Do you have a comedy concept for film or TV but no clue how to get it to the next level, let alone get it made? Do you want to improve your standup comedy writing skills? Or maybe you just want to learn how to make people laugh?

In this exciting 2 Day course you will learn the skills needed to write stand-up and narrative comedy. Build characters, devise stories and apply time honoured principles of comedy writing to make your own stand-up routine, comedy film or sitcom.

Outcome

You will work on building and developing your own concepts in comedy whilst exploring the course content. Upon finishing this course you will have learned much about the tricks used to build comedy and be able to apply these to your own writing or comedy development.

  • Tim Ferguson

    Tim Ferguson is a performer, producer, director and writer. He toured internationally with comedy trio the Doug Anthony Allstars (DAAS) for a decade. He co-wrote and starred in the comedy sci-fi series Daas Kapital and the feature film, DAAS-The Edinburgh Years. Tim was creator/co-producer of the comedy/drama series Shock Jock and the writer/host of Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush.
